pom holdings
Dear Team, In a large environment where there is so many nitro pro installations. some are on trial and some are licensed. We are having endpoint manager solutions like Ivanti EPM and SCCM which can track registry or any file existence. Can any one advise if there is any attribute getting changed in the PC if a nitro pro is activated and any other file to track if it is not activated. its not possible to check manually each PCs in a large environment to see if those are activated or not. can any one shed some light? Official Nitronaut Reymund G. Posted August 23, 2021 Official Nitronaut Report Share Posted August 23, 2021 Hi @pom holdings, Thank you for reaching out to us through our Community Forums! I understand that you have a large environment and need to know which Nitro PDF Pro installations are activated. There is a registry entry that is being updated when a license is applied to the installation. The registry path is Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Nitro\Pro\x where x is the version of Nitro PDF Pro. Example: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Nitro\Pro\13 - for Nitro PDF Pro version 13 installation. Could you please describe what type of license did you use to activate your Nitro PDF Pro installations? Are they activated using the same license or serial number? Or, a different license has been applied to your environment? You can share your license so we could check it on our end. Kind regards,
pom holdings
Dear Reymond, Thank you for the reply. We are using an activation file to activate each installations. its a xxxxxxx.lic file which we upload to each trial machine to get it activated and we use the same file for all machines. Sure, i can track the registry values using the endpoint manager. Could you please explain from the registry path which attribute is getting changed during the activation? Also, if you need how am i able to send you the license file ? Regards POM
Official Nitronaut Reymund G. Posted August 25, 2021 Official Nitronaut Report Share Posted August 25, 2021 Hello @pom holdings, When you load the license file to activate a Nitro PDF Pro Enterprise installation, the registry path below is being updated: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Nitro\Pro\x Replace the x with the version of Nitro PDF Pro. Example: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Nitro\Pro\13 for version 13. The data in the SerialNumber key is the one being updated when you load the license file. See screenshot below for reference. You can send the license file through a direct message. This information was initially asked to determine which type of license is being used on your environment.
