Nitro PDF 13 cannot open PDF that has been drawn on with Drawboard PDF

I have a file that has been edited in Drawboard PDF on a surface tablet. It mostly has words and lines drawn via the tablet. The file is unable to open or crashes shortly after opening.

 

I am evaluating the free trial to see if it will work for me, but this is a deal breaker if it is not a correctable issue.

 

I have been able to open the PDF on other programs including:

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader
  • Soda PDF from like 2015
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Google Chrome

So this seems to be isolated to Nitro PDF.

 

Are there known issues with compatibility with Drawboard PDF and Nitro PDF?
