Cathy Adams
I have a user that has Nitro Pro 8. She could print to PDF print driver before but now it is not an option. I went to the Support Tools and tried to install again and it failed the installation. I have uninstalled, rebooted and installed again but still no PDF print available. What can I do? Thanks cathy
Power User Steven Zakulec Posted August 30, 2018 Power User Report Share Posted August 30, 2018 Are you on the last version of Nitro 8? (http://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/previous version/000001644 ) I'd grab the installer from there, check that you still have the serial number/product key saved somewhere, run the cleanup tool from here (http://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/clean up tool/000003054 ), and then install Nitro 8 again. Hopefully that helps- you've done the other obvious things (repair, uninstall, support tools).
Cathy Adams
Steven: Thanks much for the reply. I went down to the users workstation and went through all suggestions. She does have the latest version. I did the uninstall and then downloaded the cleanup-oct17.vbs script. Ran that and got a Windows Script Host error: Script: C:\users\mfoster\desktop\cleanup-oct17.vbs Line: 5 Char: 1 Error: ActiveX component can't create object: "Scripting.FileSystemObject" Code: 800A01AD Source: Microsoft VBScript runtime error I ran the script though and it removed all the instances. then I rebooted, installed Nitro Pro 8 again , rebooted and then ran the Nitro Pro 8, went to Help, Support Tools and ran the install of the print driver. It errors out with the following: Nitro PDF Software Support Tools Installation of the printer driver failed. Not sure what else to do. Thanks much Cathy
Power User Steven Zakulec Posted September 5, 2018 Power User Report Share Posted September 5, 2018 Here's something else you can try: Install the Nitro 10 standalone PDF creator from the link in the post above, and use that. Let me know how it goes.
