Bullet Point symbols being removed

• (bullet points) are being dropped from converted pdfs to word so just getting a page of unstructured prose. How do I fix this?

I have downloaded, restarted computer etc and no change, the bullet point symbol is dropped when converting from pdf to word. 

Can you help me?
